Microneedling uses a device fitted with very fine needles to create thousands of tiny, controlled micro-injuries in the skin surface. This triggers the body's natural wound-healing response, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin.

At The Aesthetic Nurse Studio, hyaluronic acid serum is applied during the treatment, allowing it to penetrate deeply through the micro-channels for enhanced hydration alongside the collagen-building effect. The result over a course of treatments is firmer, smoother, more even skin with reduced scarring and pores.

A course of three sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, is recommended for best results. Treatments can be carried out on the face, neck and selected body areas.

What to Expect

Consultation

Shelley assesses your skin and confirms suitability. A patch test is carried out before your first treatment. Microneedling is not suitable for everyone and Shelley will be honest about this.

Treatment

A topical anaesthetic is applied first for comfort. The microneedling device is passed over the skin with hyaluronic acid serum. Each session takes around 45–60 minutes.

Recovery

Skin looks pink or flushed for 24–48 hours. Most clients are comfortable returning to normal activities the next day with mineral SPF. Full results build progressively over the course.
